Choosing the right file format for printing doen't seem that complicated until i read up on it. Realising that some images i have put into indesign have printed as pixelated, pointed out the flaws in my design. As a result, the area of file preparation that I am keen to learn and experiment with is the decision of what format of image is used for proficient printing.
First, choosing the proper image format for the specific outcome is important. There are a variety of file formats for different outcomes, for example gif files and jpg files. In the area of online publications, the appropriate file formats to use for images is gif, png and jpg files. This is because their prime use is for screen display and thus gaining a high resolution while printing is not ideal with these formats. Therefore, in terms of print publishing, the proper file formats to use are either EPS and/or TIFF. These formats will evidently provide the best quality and high resolutions.
